Marketing Director 2008 - 2013
In my role as Marketing Director for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, I was charged with developing & directing all communications. I developed an electronic newsletter and email templates the staff could easily use to reach out to the membership on a frequent basis. I also increased the website's visibility on SERPs and thus the community engagement and outreach through electronic media as well as created a digital advertising program for members that was a source of non-member due's income for the organization.
Project: 2009 Chamber website redesign. I added several features like an advertising section to generate non-dues revenue an events calendar, social media feed member & hero of the month sections. Utilizing a powerful CMS parts of the website were able to be updated by other members of the team. Web site traffic and interaction increased from 5k unique visitors a month to over 30k.
Project:Small business award annual chamber event. I was tasked with promoting the SBA event to members and nonmembers. I created a landing page, sign-up form, promotional emails, website & social media ads to achieve this. The event benefited from increased attendance year over year while I was there.
Projects: Chamber member events. With over 8 events a month, creating and marketing events was a constant rush. Utilizing the CMS I created templates where event coordinators could choose the artwork based on the event, enter the venue and time info, pick an email list and schedule the email. Empowering the event coordinators manage promoting their events.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Lifted search engine ranking significantly by utilizing certain aspects of the CMS and known SEO strategies. We had number 1 & 2 ranking for keywords Business & Ft Lauderdale.
Created several successful email campaigns to promote chamber networking events, which increased member and
non-member participation.
Updated & modernized all visual collateral materials with a unique and consistent look that reflected the nature of the chamber as well as the region.
Established, maintained, and grew the email marketing program, growing our database to several thousand.
Also created an online ad program, increasing non-member dues for the organization.
Collaborated with the executive team to promote and run major award shows and presentations with attendance in the hundreds.
